Scope: Maintain general ledger by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information. Status: Full Time with Benefits Responsibilities and Duties:
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency.
Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process.
Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
Support month-end and year-end close process.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
Meets accounting financial objectives by analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses, preparing special reports.
Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing accounting regulations; recommending new procedures.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
2-4 years of accounting experience in accounting. Computer Skills:
Proficient Microsoft and Excel Physical Demands of Position: This is a largely sedentary role; however some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, carry files, lift boxes and open cabinets and bend or stand on a two step as necessary.
