The Jacobs team is looking for an individual to run our Land Mobile Radio (LMR) deployment as part of our LA-RICS Team. This individual will be responsible for the implementation of a regional 60 site network for the first responders in Los Angeles County. This position is at times client facing and would be the direct contact as the highest ranking onsite Owners Representative with an emphasis on ensuring Schedule, Cost, Scope and Safety along with the following specific tasks:
Approval of Radio Frequency (RF) design submitted by the Authority’s Contractor
Review and approval of individual antenna placement on towers
Approval of all Acceptance Test Plans for each Project
Assist in fleet-mapping and development of Standard Operating Procedures
Oversite of the LA-RICS Training Plan
Management of Technical Staff (Jacobs Team)
Creation of agendas for all internal meetings and review of all agendas submitted by MSI
Review and approval of all Meeting Minutes for technical meetings submitted by Document Control Lead
Input into the Jacobs Monthly Report for both Projects on the technical progress made for the specific reporting period
Identification of all technical risk items for population of a Project Risk register maintained by the DPM and the Change Management Lead.
Approval of all Site Implementation Plans and/or Installation Plans to ensure contract compliance and Industry Best practice
Review and approve (with edits when necessary) all R56 Audits
Review and approve (with edits when necessary) all interference studies
Review and approve all technical MOPs to guarantee minimal down time of LA-RICS and existing systems
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Construction Management, or Architecture preferred, while specialized training in Radio Frequency or LMR may be substituted for a degree.
5 years of experience running or designing LMR Systems
Strong knowledge of Site selection and Environmental regulations regarding Construction / placement of antenna towers / arrays is required
Must have strong computer capability
Team player and ability to influence others with results.
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
