Interim, Inc. Maintenance Worker in Monterey and Salinas, California
Under supervision and direction of the Facilities Manager and Maintenance Supervisor:
Assesses maintenance and repair problems with follow-up;
Paints interior and exterior buildings;
Assists Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Manager with the moving of furniture, appliances, etc.;
Cleans interiors of buildings after residents move out or in preparation for move-ins;
Performs minor plumbing and electrical work;
Regularly maintains building interior and exterior of one or more facilities;
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Multi-unit apartment experience in maintenance and repair of buildings and appliances, including painting, cleaning, patching walls and repairing sheet rock; familiarity with tools and with the application of paints and other chemicals associated with painting, cleaning; skills in minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry required; ability to read and understand work orders and instruction manuals in English; ability to maintain written record of completed assignments in English.
SALARY: $17.18 - $22.37 (7 steps); Medical/Dental/Vision/Group Life and 403(b) Savings plans; paid vacation and sick leave.
HOURS: Full time; 40 hours per week; non-exempt (eligible for overtime); some on-call required.
REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; valid California driver license; automobile liability insurance and a good driving record; own vehicle required; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; ability to pass physical exam; criminal record clearance, proof of authorization to work in the United States as required by Immigration and Reform Act of 1986.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Ability to drive an automobile; ability to hear normal conversations; Ability to orally communicate, in English, with residents and staff; hand, finger and body coordination sufficient to operate and power tools associated with buildings and grounds maintenance/repairs; ability to lift materials up to 40 pounds in weight. Capable of the following extended activities: bending, stooping, climbing and working from ladders, digging and lifting.
